There is an initial resistance in trying anything new. Whenever we try to do something new, most of our cognitive effort is spent on it, and as a result we are less efficient (than usual) for other usual work. But if we stick to it, our brain accomodates for the increased cognitive load and in sometime we find ourselves to be performing with the same (or even better) efficiency.
