If you pay close attention to your body, you'll realize it speaks to you, the way it speaks to fitness tracking devices. You'll know when your body craves rest, recreation, recovery, stress (in the form of workout). Developing such an intuition takes time, and is a gradual process. It also promotes mindfullness. Right now I can asses when my body/mind needs rest and when it needs a workout. Ofcource I won't be able to predict my exact heart rate during a run, but I'm able to decide what to do amongst the following three during a run:

  • pace up
  • maintain the same pace
  • pace down

Not relying on fitness tracking devices is still an evolving experiment for me and I'm super excited to see more results coming out of it.
